How do I add a book?

There are three ways.

1. Scan a barcode — point the camera at the ISBN barcode on the back cover
2. Enter an ISBN — type the 13-digit ISBN
3. Search by title — enter a keyword in the Search tab and add a book from the store results

How do I check whether a library has a book?

1. In the Settings tab, search for nearby libraries and register your favorites
2. Open a book’s detail screen to see its availability at your registered libraries

How do I get library availability notifications?

Turn on “Library availability notifications” under Notifications in Settings. You will be notified about once a day when a book with the “Want to read” status (excluding manga) becomes available at your favorite library.

Where is my data stored?

The data for the books you add is stored on your device. If you use iCloud, it is synced across your devices. No data is sent to the developer’s servers. For how ads are delivered, see the Privacy Policy.

Which libraries are supported?

You can search the libraries across Japan supported by Calil (over 3,000 libraries).

Barcode scanning does not work

• Check that Settings → Kashikoi Bookshelf → Camera is allowed
• Make sure you are pointing at the ISBN barcode (the 13-digit number on the back cover)
• Make sure there is enough light (scanning can be difficult in dark places)

Does it sync with iCloud?

If you are signed in to iCloud, your data is synced automatically. Syncing uses a small amount of iCloud storage.
